Based on the classic “Days of Future Past” comic book storyline written by Chris Claremont, the plot for the film will involving time travel and an alternate future in which mutants are hunted down by robotic Sentinels and placed in internment camps. This bleak, alternate future stems from the X-Men failing to prevent the assassination of a U.S. senator by the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, thus creating an alternate timeline in which mutants are hunted down like animals.
Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Days of Future Past stars James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Peter Dinklage and will arrive in theaters on July 14, 2014.
